Catalogue No: TMDG 147
Release Date: June 8, 2015
Media: Digital & Special Edition CDR – Virtual Vinyl
One of the freshest & leading freestyle & worldwide dance-music compilations returns, it’s the fifth edition. Once again German DJ and producer Quincy Jointz selected a very nice blend with fresh unreleased songs from different styles of modern electronic dance-music, whether you call it Nu Funk, Broken Beats, Downbeats, Electronica or Ghetto Funk. It seems that these scenes are dominated by mash-ups, bootlegs and edits and there are no artists and producers who create originally own music. This impression is not so true. Some of the best acts worldwide are included on our new “Lime Sorbet compilation Vol. 5”, with their own songs. All songs are exclusive and most of them unreleased.
File Under: NU FUNK / DOWNTEMPO / BROKEN BEAT / NU JAZZ / FREESTYLE / DANCE

German-based Flashbaxx got much great feedback for his debut-album “Something to Believe”. Quincy Jointz did a remix on the soulful duet-song “Whatever” which is released for the first time on the compilation. He added his unique funky beats & some electronica and turned it into a dance-tune.
One artist was featured on all Lime Sorbet compilations except Mr. Jointz himself. We talk about a very talented musician, jazz.k.lipa from Dresden. He is popular for his releases on Resense label. Jazz.k.lipa focuses more and more on modern Soul music. “Lost Smile” that appears on our compilation is a fantastic song.
Ashley Slater from UK (very well-known by his band Freak Power) offered a special and groovy cover-version on Al Green’s “Stay Together”.
Jayl Funk is another German top-act. His song “We got the Funk” got a remix- treatment by Quincy Jointz. This one was released some years ago. But the record label it was released is no longer running. So we though it would be a shame to hold back this funky Bomb.
Quincy Jointz teamed-up again with New York based producer Michael DeVellis and created the funk-Latin bomb “Homenaje” which is based on the fantastic song from Brownout.
More fresh uplifting beats are coming by Funky Destination from Croatia. “45th Vinyl Street” will set the funky dance-floors on fire.
Italian funk head Ale Tosses appears again on “Lime Sorbet”. His “Good Trip” track is not only what the title states, it’s also the result by listening to this finest Ghetto Funk style productions.
Zamali contributes with “CPU Saver”, this track will rock on the clubs with his fat break-beats and soulful vocals easily.
Quincy Jointz found DJ Color C2’s tune somewhere in soundcloud. He is a newcomer from Switzerland and we are sure that he will get much more attention in the future.
DJ Clairvo from Budapest is already well-know in the funky & freestyle scene. His song “Up on my Feet feat. MSKA” shows his house(y) and catchy side.
Angelos Stoumpos (the mastermind behind Timewarp Music and Timewarp inc and also known as Timewarp) teamed up with The Mage (Vocals), Beat Ride (Keys) and StelX (Guitar) to create their new project under the name Groove Monkz. Be sure that these guys are not praying asceticism and silence. They just created a fresh tune called “Promised Land” that has a hip hop style with a dub downbeat flavor. With more to expect very soon...
Trotter from Brazil is part of the compilation with his uplifting tune “Tight & Funky”. And yes, the song is absolutely tight & funky.
Another great discovery is Subknight, he slows down the compilation with his soulful downbeats “World of Wah”. Also be sure to hear more of this talented guy.
“Lime Sorbet compilation Vol. 5” closes with a future latin space dub song named “Sofia” feat. Joe Beats by Stereo 77. This guy from Florida always creates an interesting mixture of groovy beats and outer-space effects. It is the right tune to end this trip into funky freestyle-sounds.
All tracks (except 2,3,4) mastered by Angelos Timewarp Stoumpos.
